Completed: 27. Eat at Tandoori Village
Some of our goals are for personal growth, some are meant to push us out of our comfort zone, to learn or experience new things, and others, well, others are meant to serve as reminders to visit places you’ve passed for a billion years, but have never stopped at because you figure it’ll always be there.
Until it isn’t.
We tried to complete this goal earlier in the year and after we arrived, we learned they had closed. A bit of googling told us that only temporarily for renovations.
Phew.
Tandoori Village serves Punjabi food and has been around for 25 years.
And I’ve gone all those 25 years without eating here, but look at me now, world!
On this table, we have:
- a salad
-
aloo adrak gobi: diced potatoes and florets of cauliflower tossed with flavored with ginger.
- green chilli coriander naan
- regular naan
-
tarka palao: aromatic basmati rice tempered with fried cumin seeds
AND. AND. AND. Even Kris, compared to me, a picky eater, ate it.
The food was delicious, the ambiance was dark and cozy, and the server/owner(?) was really funny.
Worth the wait, and now it’s all I crave.
