Incorporate Meditation Into My Life

Completing: 20. Incorporate Meditation Into My Life

There are a few reasons as to why I added this to my bucket list:

  • I happened to catch a radio show discussing transcendental meditation and its benefits. It really piqued my interest.
  • Which led me to realize that my dad has been practicing for over 35 years, but I’ve never really talked to him about it.

In an effort to complete this goal, I googled a few meditation opportunities and found an Intro to Transcendental Meditation (TM) nearby, which was convenient. I highly believe in the tenets of the practice and everything the instructor said was right up my alley. But oh, there’s just that $1000 fee that the course costs.

No.

After talking to my dad more about how it’s enriched his life and how to incorporate it into mine, I went to the school of Google for the free version. I’ve acquired my mantra and now attempt to meditate for 20 minutes at least once every day. Kris has also decided to join me.

It’s only been a few months since we started, but so far we’ve noticed the following effects:

  • better sleep
  • more vivid dreams
  • not as exhausted during the day
  • more focused

I plan to make this part of my life so that it lasts beyond 2016. Having already experienced benefits, I like what I’m seeing.
