20. Go to the Lyndon B. Johnson Memorial Grove in DC
Washington D.C. traffic… sucks right? Not in this case.
One day I was stuck in traffic traveling to D.C. when I noticed this park. I had no idea what it was until I passed the entrance where the sign was — a memorial grove for our former president Lyndon B. Johnson.
There’s not much in the park, but it’s the spot where President Johnson would come to escape the frenzy of DC’s politics. Once you cross a bridge, you are surrounded by a meadow and a grove of white pines. A spiral trail leads through the grove to a carved, granite monolith where you can enjoy a great view of the Mall.
You never know what you’ll discover while sitting in DC traffic.
