In 1998, AFI invited more than 1,500 leaders from across the American film community – screenwriters, directors, actors, producers, cinematographers, editors, executives, film historians and critics among them – to choose from a list of 400 nominated films compiled by AFI and select the 100 greatest American movies.

I’ve seen a good number of them (indicated by asterisks) and many are my favorite movies of all time. I want to expose myself to the rest of these “greatest movies.” Plus, I feel like I’m the last person on earth who hasn’t seen Rocky or Star Wars and I’m embarrassed. I’m going to try to work my way starting from 100 and ending at 1, Citizen Kane.

*EDIT: I was going to attempt to strictly work backwards and not go out of order, which I’ll try to do, but I’ve realized that some movies are more accessible than others, so I’ll just watch them when they’re available. One thing that is certain is that I’ll watch Citizen Kane last.*
