Back in 1986 I saw this movie named “Little shop of Horrors.” I instantly fell in love with it. There is a song in it called “Downtown.” The song is about how bad and how hard life life is on Skid Row. Anyway, there is a black dude who has a raspy beautiful voice in the song. The only thing he sings is a small part in which he sings…”Down on Skid.” That’s it! All my life I’ve wanted to find who this man is and now I find out that…it was the lead singer to the Four Tops Levi Stubbs! He was also the voice for Audrey 2 the evil plant in the movie.
You guys have no idea how long I’ve searched for that voice and to know it was right in front of my face is beyond frustrating. Levi has since passed away but his voice lives on forever.

Gaaaaaaah!!!! One of my life’s goals also! Thankyou thankyou thankyou. You have no idea (or maybe you do) of how many hours spent trying… I have pleaded with so many ‘down on skid…’ is all he sings and no one could tell me. Many thought it was Dwayne from Death in Paradise who was in the show but not him.
