Who wouldn’t want to do this?!?!
I decided long ago that I wanted to paddle boat to the Jefferson Memorial. There’s one little problem that delayed completing this: I can’t swim (another goal that needs to be completed). Not that you need to swim to paddle boat, but it’s a little frightening to know that the only thing preventing your drowning is a tiny orange life vest.
I picked a gorgeous day to paddle around the Tidal Basin. The experience was fantastic, but the only negative part is that the boat is built for two people. Lyssa was completing her sailing goal, so I was alone on this journey and had to do all the work. Let’s just say I know how to sweat.
The water appeared to be clean, however this dead fish might have proved otherwise.
All in all, I overcame my fear of being in a “large” body of water by myself. I also enjoyed being outdoors, and if you know me, you know I’m not the “outdoorsy” type.
And of course, you can’t beat this vantage point!
